Multi-Use Trail featuring Hiking, Biking, ATV Riding, Fishing, Kayaking, Wildlife Viewing, Berry Picking as well as Skiing, and Snowmobiling during winter months. Nestled in Chugach State Park about 1 hour northeast of Anchorage or 42 miles. Eklutna Lakeside Trail skirts around the east side of Eklutna Lake to its headwaters at Eklutna Glacier. Eklutna Lakeside Trail is an easy 13-mile one-way trail that can be done in a day on a bike or if you are hiking you can spend the night at Eklutna Alex Campgrounds or stay at one of the cabins available for rent. More trails are available along this route as well. These include Twin Peaks Trail and Bold Ridge Trail. Bikes and Kayaks are available for rent at the trailhead. Be extremely careful when boating or kayaking as the wind picks up fast and can catch you off-guard.
