Red Leather Bracelet with Sterling Silver Wrap

Take this little visualization with me. You arrive at a yard sale and start looking at the tables. Your excitement mounts when you notice some jewelry (bling bling). You notice a red twisted leather bracelet with metal on it (check out the picture).

It is some sort of leather looking material, really not your style. You start to walk away from it. Suddenly you hear me shout, “STOP! Go back, pick it up and look at that metal.” You stop, go back and pick it up. When you turn it over, you notice the 925 mark on the middle metal part (see the picture).

Now, you are really thankful you have been reading my blog. (In fact you’ve been reading it so much that you are hearing me in your head and that is a good thing.) All that reading paid off! You located a sterling silver piece, being sold for CHEAP (fifty cents).

Here’s the lesson, just because it is made from a leather material, it still has metal parts to check out. These metal parts can be precious metals, like sterling silver. This is a true story, I bought it at a yard sale for $0.50. Sellers love marking their items with that price and I just love buying it for that price. It seems like that is the most common price I pay for sterling silver items.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting,
