Retired James Avery Dolphin Ring

This James Avery sterling silver dolphin ring isn’t your every day run of the mill ring. What you haven’t heard of James Avery? Then you need to do some additional research on highly coveted jewelry makers. James Avery pieces are high quality items. They are heavy duty and should withstand the test of time.

Now, if I didn’t know about James Avery pieces, I would have made the mistake of selling this dolphin ring for $14.99. However, this was a retired ring (no longer in production), which sold on 1-24-14 for $54.99 plus shipping. Not bad considering I bought it for a buck. That’s a profit of $46 dollars, after selling fees. That is a big difference from the normal price I would have sold an unknown maker’s ring for, $14.99. It pays to find out about the makers when you can read the mark.

The ring was a size 8.75, weighed 5.9 grams and marked copyright Avery Ster inside. James Avery also has another markers mark. It can be seen on the website, www.jamesavery.com. It reminds me of a 3 tier candelabra with the J on the left of the stem and the A on the right side of the stem.

Keep your eyes open on the maker’s marks while you are searching for your treasure. The item might be worth more than you think.

Here’s an idea: You may want to research additional maker’s marks that are commanding high prices by using such websites as eBay for your learning tool.
