This is a solid 14 K gold floating heart charm. This charm does have some weight to it. When you place it in your hand, you can feel the weight. It doesn’t look like it would be heavy, but it is. Now, when I write heavy, I mean compared to another item around the same size.
I paid $5 for this floating heart charm from a local thrift store. There is more than $5 of gold in this 14 K charm. If you bought it in a jewelry store, it would definitely cost you more than $5. If you went out and tried to prospect this much gold, it would cost you more than $5 to recover it and turn it into a wearable piece of jewelry. This is the line of reasoning I use when I find these gold items for sale. This helps me determine if it is a good buy or not.
Five dollars for this heart charm was a good deal to me, so I bought it. It saved me money and I have a pretty heart charm to wear.
