Moveable Jewelry

Today I want to cover moveable jewelry. What exactly is moveable jewelry you ask? It is jewelry that has a moveable part to it. What type of jewelry items are moveable? Almost anything you can think of has the potential to have moveable parts. This includes rings, earrings, pendants and charms. Why would this be of importance to you? Moveable items usually command a higher sell price than a normal static object. They fascinate us and people are willing to pay higher prices for them. So remember this when you are sourcing your jewelry items to resell, or when you are actually listing the item for sale.

Below are different pieces and types of moveable jewelry to illustrate this topic.

This is a vintage sterling enamel clown pendant with a handle to turn. When the handle is turned it causes the clown to spin around. There is one listed exactly like this on eBay at the moment with an asking price of $99.

This is a sterling silver dolphin pendant. There is a little dolphin in the center of two pieces of glass. The dolphin spins around a metal piece glued to the glass. So it moves when you walk, or twirl the pendant.

Here is another vintage sterling silver pendant. It is a horseshoe with a spinning disk in the center. When you spin the disk around fast, it says I Love You. How creative is that?

This sterling silver teddy bear has moveable legs and arms. His head moves as well. This teddy bear will sell for a higher price than an equal size sterling silver teddy bear that doesn’t move. A moveable teddy bear can resell upwards of $40, while a non-moveable bear will sell for around $20. Plus these items are just fun to play with, especially if you are stressed. They are great stress relievers that adds a little fun into your day.

Here’s a sterling silver wishing well charm with a bucket that swings and a handle that turns. The windmill’s blades spin around on this sterling silver charm. Finally, here’s a 9 ct gold treasure chest pendant that opens to reveal a cross that you can stand up inside the chest.

I’ve also seen sterling silver solid balls with chimes inside, so when you move, the ball makes music. Keep all this in mind when you are out hunting for treasure. Pick up pieces and investigate thoroughly.

As I mentioned above, there are rings that have moveable parts with motion as well. Here are a couple of different dolphin spinning motion rings in sterling and gold. There is even a 14K gold dolphin dangle ring. Talk about having fun while wearing these moveable beauties.

Remember, just because items have moveable parts it doesn’t mean they are costume jewelry. As you can see, they can also be made out of precious metals, so really pay attention to items while you are out treasure hunting. Moveable parts could mean an exquisitely fun piece of jewelry with good resell value, providing you can actually part with the item – they are really fun jewelry to wear! And that’s exactly why people will pay higher prices for them.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting,
